PKoneday is an urban band based out of Atlanta and Los Angeles. PKoneday is short for “Promises Kept One Day” which is a saying the band lives by, as accountability to the promises they have made to themselves and others. The trio consists of Brian Taylor, Marlon Montgomery and Lasanna Harris.

In today’s world, life has become a continuous story of trials and tribulations, stress and struggle, pain and problems. PKoneday provides music that soothes the ears, in an effort to help cope and handle the effects of life as they mix pop, rock, hip hop, and soul.

The group originally met as freshmen in college at Georgia State University, and soon formed a relationship more often recognized as brothers because of their close friendship. Lasanna and Brian both attended the business school, and Marlon the university’s school of music. While in college, Lasanna and Marlon got their first experience in the music industry by interning for an Atlanta based record label. Brian, still focused on his path of marketing and advertising, interned for a public relations firm. The intern experience not only sparked an interest for these gentlemen, but also helped them realize a passion that would manifest at a later time.

After years of settling for the corporate side of the business world, the trio soon felt a greater calling on each of their lives. “We felt it was time to use our God-given musical gifts and talents to not only chisel a place into music history, but also to embrace an ever-changing music culture with a sound and message that can motivate dreams to reality,” says Brian Taylor, who serves as one of the band’s main songwriters.

The central message in PKoneday’s music pours from each of their relationships with Christ. “I accepted Him at a very young age. My father has been a pastor of a church most of my life, so he and my mother made sure that they taught me something from God’s Word everyday. I’m just thankful to have listened and believed.” All three members grew up in the church, while Marlon and Lasanna are actually pastor’s kids. “Unfortunately,” Lasanna jokes with a laugh, “But no, seriously, it was a blessing to grow up in a family that valued relationship with the Lord. Now I’m older, wiser, and desire to be used as a vessel to reach the world through the musical gifts and abilities God gave me.”

The band members have gone through some major changes together as fellow believers. The transition from college lifestyle to corporate America and finally to full-time artists/producers was one major process that tried their faith. “Take a leap of faith… that’s if you believe,” Brian Taylor quotes from one of PKoneday’s songs. “That message became real as ever as we were lead to leave our jobs and trust God for something greater, and now we have the responsibility to be the light of the world and shine that light through the influence of music culture.” All three actively serve in their local churches. Marlon is a youth minister in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Lasanna serves at his father’s church as a youth leader. Brian has been on leadership teams for young adult ministries and now assists various pastors in Los Angeles with community service events.

PKoneday’s work is a composition of sounds that reflects the individual style of each member combined to create collective music. “We just want to make music that reflects who we are, where we came from, and where we are going. Hopefully we can also inspire a few hearts with a life-changing message at the same time,” says the bands lead producer, Lasanna Harris. Working in the industry as songwriters, producers, and artists, their music is appealing and attracting to audiences of all genres, ages, and generations. With lyrical content based on their personal experiences as well as others close to them; PKoneday utilizes the structure of testimony to address current events and life issues.
